I purchased a Thunderbolt drive to go with my new imac as a backup drive using carbon copy. After reading the specs I expected lightening speeds and was somewhat disappointed with the quite normal speed achieved during backup. Speeds close to USB 3.0 most of the time. Certainly not GB's a second as claimed. This was caused by the original drive having many individual files which apparently slows the drive down quite a bit. The drive gets quite hot in operation and I measured a case temperature of 43 degrees Celsius on the outer case. It just feels hotter to the touch.Overall it is quiet and matches the apple product colours. I backup once a week and that is the only time it is plugged into the system.

28 Days to Beat the Blues a practical guide to reducing stress Wayne Parrott Michelle Mark 9781921630422 Books Reviews
I found this book to be very useful, it really was a very practical guide to reducing stress.I had never really considered that stress was a consequence of how I reacted to my life and so all of the tools I had collected were about environmental change and so did not do to much. This book was about changing the environment of my mind and the way I reacted to what happened to me which has made a delightful change. So now when things don't go the way I wanted or expected I have a way to change the way I react to it changing the way I feel and actually reducing stress.
I have read it once now and am using the practical parts to go over the information daily so that it gets easier and easier to do.
Highly recommend.
Written in a practical way, 28 Days to Beat the Blues is a very powerful tool for overcoming stress-related illnesses. As the title suggests, it is a guide to reducing stress, but what I found is that the teachings of the Fountainhead Method can surely change your life.
The book highlights the connection between mind and body and explains why our personal set of beliefs are the cause of why we react the way we do.
Ultimately, I can see how reading, learning and acting on the information in this book will help sufferers of depression and anxiety to break their patterns of thinking and create a way out of the cycle they have been on - to be free of their stress-related illness and hopefully their medication.
As the title indicates, "28 Days to Beat the Blues" is a practical guide. Short, concise and easy to follow, this is a book worth reading if you believe you're suffering from stress-related illness.
If you have read the books like "Awaken the Giant Within" and "The Secret", this book will strike some common nerves in the sense that the Fountainhead Method (the recovery method devised by the authors) supports the notion that in order to heal yourself, first you must spend some time redefining your associations. Easier said than done, you may say, but that's where the step-by-step process described in this book comes in handy, as it guides you through what you need to do in order to change those associations which prevent you from being all you can be.
At just 133 pages, you really can't go wrong with this guide. You could read it in a couple of sittings, but if you're trying out the method, it would definitely be a better idea for you to take your time through it. While seeing a physician or psychologist face-to-face has obvious benefits, few people can afford it. If you find yourself in a bind, pick up this book and for the price of a decent lunch, you'll have two experts holding your hand you for as long as you need.
While we, The Book Maniacs, are maniacs in our own right, fortunately we don't suffer from stress related illnesses. Therefore, we can't really vouch for the effectiveness of the method, but it resonated well with the knowledge we've acquired from books like "The Brain that Changes Itself" which deal extensively with how the mind and body interact to not just stimuli, but to our beliefs. The authors cite real case studies which can be verified and they also provide all the necessary proof you'd need to be certain that tens of thousands of people have benefited from this simple, yet serious approach.
In addition, 10% of all the proceeds of this self-help book will go to The Anti-Depression Association of Australia to support their pro-bono programs. Yet more proof that the authors Michelle and Wayne put their money where their mouth is.
